Well it's been messed up longer than that... The point is it has been making progress so why take one step forward and three steps back with it.

You know, this isn't a halfbad idea. I mean, seriously, lootscaling was a bad idea. Plus it seems to not effect the hardcore farmers at all. The econ is already borked due to items being over farmed. I mean, arn't golds already exempt from loot scaling? The only thing it would stop is gold coin drops, and purples. Big whoopdydoo.

I don't see why it's 3 steps backward. Seriously. I think it might be a step forward; in that I honestly don't think prices can get any lower.

I'm signed.

it made progress... but then when rare items were made exempt from scaling that progress was instantly gone. If they wanted a balanced economy they'd put full loot scaling and increase drops for everyone a bit, but that ain't the case. Instead they scale back loot scaling and decrease drops for all. bleh.

It could work like the wintersday pressies. Have them timeout after a while. Would probably really frustrate bots (I can imagine many getting stuck in a loop trying to pick up the same item again and again), and if a real human would ever see that green they've been lusting after forever, they'd have no problem sticking around (or coming back) for it.

Prices will drop down like a brick, economy will be overflooded with all sorts of things cause of the farming in Hard Mode...

In other words, things will become WAAYYYYYY cheaper.

Besides, it's everyone's chance to get a little bit richer again, they shouldn't just do it for a weekend, but forever, really. Before the lootscaling was introduced, things were WAY easier to get than now.

So my idea has met with mixed opinions, it isn't all that good, but not totally hated. But hey, what does Anet do instead? Completely shaft PvE players yet again. What do we get this weekend? Double faction and fame in HA... wow, now there's an awesome idea!

*yawn* Wake me up in a week, please.

Um, The market is dead now anyways with what we would be getting. Rares aren't worth anything, mods are barely worth anything to make a difference. Rare skins usually wouldn't drop where everyone would be farming and Elemental swords are too ugly to be worth that much anyways.

So bring on the weekend event of no greedy henchman. So I have more stuff to merch so I can make money off of it. Cause we all know you can't sell anything that drops anymore.

So don't give me none of that hodgepodge about the market dying.

Tell me about a weapon that doesn't drop from HA, that's worth more than 100k? Not more than 2-3 are there. Excluding the Torment Weapons because they don't drop and Gems are 20k tops.

Tell me a mod over 35k. I don't think there are any.

Tell me a green over 50k. Rago's might be worth that much, but I highly doubt anything else is.

Rare materials, unless you have stacks, aren't worth that great of a buck either. (no that's not good english)

Runes are dead big time. Dye tops at 6k, not that you'd get 100 black dyes in that weekend anyways. But I'm sure it'd drive the price down a few k. But so what? Then people can stop putting ugly colors on armors thinking they're elite cause it costs so much.

Tomes are already dropping in price, last I sold. They'd drop more of course, but they'd always be around the 2-3k mark, so it isn't that big of a deal.

No. Reasoning: I would say it would kill the economy, but the economy is already dead so... this would be bad for the economy is a better phrasing.

Sorry but does loot scaling mean that the amount of drops I get are the same whether I solo farm or go in a full group? Thx for the response.

Compared to playing with a full party of either hench or other real players, playing this way would result in 8 times the normal amount of loot. This would apply to golds, greens, dyes - everything. This would be the Octuple Everything Weekend. This is so much more ridiculously more profitable than any weekend we have ever seen as to be extremely game imbalancing.

I think a lot of people have /signed because, let's face it, we all want a free lunch. I like effortless goodies as much as the next guy, but this is over the top. Also, just think how you'd feel if you had to miss this one due to some family obligation?

If you want to see what drops the heroes and henches are getting, just play with a full human group.

I think a more interesting weekend (but equally unlikely to actually happen) would be if all heroes and henches went on strike. All us PVE'ers would be forced to team up. Wouldn't that be something?

I'm all for new weekend events, especially the ones that'll net me some nice loot without extra effort, but this is seriously not the way to do it.

The market is already about at rock bottom anyway without giving people 4-8 times the loot and gold they were picking up previously. I just bought 5 minipets and a few maxed green items, and none of them cost me more than 5k. I have a decent max green hammer I'm trying to sell, and I can barely give the thing away. Runes and Insignias other than Sup Vigor don't go over 500g, and throwing that much more crap into the market, even for a weekend, doesn't look like a good idea to me.

LOL

I like this idea. I hero/hench a LOT, but understand that there are people who do not have good heroes and don't pick hench well. Having a weekend that made heroes and hench worthless would be fun. Make people WANT to join other people to play the game. Could be as rough as no hero/hench being available for the weekend, or as mild as disabling their elite skills. But I do like that idea.

/unsigned for getting hero/hench drops
/signed for something new

Well, here's one way to look at it; since it would be an octuple drop weekend for all items, perhaps it could be looked at as a way to clear the market for all the new things in GW:EN. As Garethporlest18 stated ever so eloquently, prices for most items have already plumeted. Perhaps having a weekend to create a clean slate for GW:EN items might be good. Also give a chance for some intrepid peoples to make an extra buck before the 31st by getting a higher number of whites and other merchantable items. I remember when they first released Nightfall, they have a triple drop weekend for Canthan Greens (and yet i still didn't get a single one) that was meant to do exactly the same thing.

Limitless players are complaining about how loot scaling screwed farmers, and now you're suggesting we completely get rid of solo farming for a whole weekend, because in this 'event' it will make no difference whether you go out solo or with henchies.... bad idea

What happens when all are human players? Does the loot still get shared among the players, cause in that case no-one will fight with another human player for the whole weekend, which basically completely removes the idea of what an MMO is... again.... bad idea

I see no problem with it, it is just a weekend thing. That is why they are called Bonus Weekend Events.

*After the weekend*

Me: "I'm looking for a very rare green item!"
Them: "250 g"
Me: "But, you don't even know what I want..."
Them: "250 g for all greens. 100g for golds."
Me: "WHAT?! What happened to the economy? I suppose now you're going to tell me Ectos are worthless.."
Them: "Nope. I sell'em for 100g for 10 ectos."
Me: "WHAT?!"
Them: "Hey! If you think my prices are too high, go somewhere else..."

People solo farm and get a somewhat higher number of drops than they do playing with heros and henchmen. I don't understand how one weekend could effect the economy in such a drastic manner as you all describe; it would probably only net about double, or at most triple, the drops you would get if you were soloing anyway.
